Blockchain 101: The future of crypto and other applications

This is part of a speaker series in London, where we discuss topics of specific interest to our membership. The event comes in the backdrop of the Indian Budget a few days ago, where the Indian Finance Minister clarified that the government does not consider cryptocurrencies legal tender, but that it would consider other applications for blockchain across government. The Reserve Bank of India has voiced similar, strong concerns about cryptocurrencies.

The session will provide an audience of 70-80 Indian professionals in London with an overview of what blockchain is, and the applications that could be considered in financial markets and other avenues relevant to them.

The panel will be moderated by Ambassador Dinesh Patnaik (Deputy High Commissioner of India to the UK), and will consist of:

  • Jeremy Millar: Chief of Staff, ConsenSys; Founding Board Member, Enterprise Ethereum Alliance
  • Alex Shelkovnikov: Investor; Founding member,  Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine
  • Ved Sen: Digital evangelist, TCS
  • Lord Jitesh Gadhia
